Regulation of competition

  1. Both Black & white and colored entries will be accepted.
  2. Both digitally drawn and hand drawn entries will be accepted. Hand drawn entries should be scanned and submitted through online application form.
  3. Entries should be created in accordance to the theme given. There is no limitation on the drawing style of the entries.
  4. Both Chinese and English entries will be accepted.
  5. Original works and derivative works are accepted for the illustration section, while only original works will be accepted for the character design section.
  6. If the entries are derivative works, it must be stated with original works while submitting.
  7. Both individual work and group work are allowed. Contestants need to specify whether their entries are individual work or group work when they submit their entries. Contestants are not required to specify the work distribution in the group.
  8. Contestant can submit multiple entries. Entries will be graded independently. If more than one entry of a contestant are selected as prize-winning entries, only the highest prize will be awarded.
  9. If more than one entry receives same marks, the entries will be judged again by judges.
  10. Contestant can join both sections of the competition. Entries will be graded independently. Please pay attention to the different requirements of entries for the two sections.
  11. The Animation and Comics Association, HKUSU will not account for any problems about color difference and picture quality of entries.
  12. The Animation and Comics Association, HKUSU reserves the right to cancel some prizes.
  13. Contestants who violate any of the following rules will be eliminated:
    1. Submit entries which contain violent and indecent elements;
    2. Copy or use others’ works to join the competition;
    3. Submit entries which have been used to join other competitions;
    4. Use fake identity to submit multiple entries.
  14. The submission of an entry shall be deemed as the granting of consent to the unconditional transfer of all copyrights to the Animation and Comics Association, HKUSU. The Animation and Comics Association, HKUSU reserves the right to revise, use, reproduce and distribute any entry without obtaining prior consent from the participant.
  15. If there are too many entries, The Animation and Comics Association, HKUSU reserves the right to filter and eliminate works of less competence before handing in to judges.
  16. All interpretation of the requirements and regulations of the competition should be based on the Chinese version.
